BUENTRATO PROJECT

Buentrato (good treatment) was initiated in Peru by the ANAR Foundation in schools from Lima, and aims to make adolescents active agents in the promotion, prevention and defence of equality, coexistence in classrooms and the fight against gender-based violence.

This is achieved through the empowerment of a small group of students who, supported by professionals of the ANAR Foundation, are in charge of training their peers on issues such as good treatment between peers and adults, gender violence among youngsters, empathy, communication, healthy coexistence and conflict resolution. Thus, a spiral of training reaches the entire school. The programme includes meetings: family-students and teachers-students to generate spaces for mutual listening, reflection and search for solutions. It encourages the creativity of young people by launching their initiatives and producing outputs that help to spread good treatment between young and old.
