KIgA-Berlin: Kreuzberger Initiative gegen Antisemitismus

Summary:

Since 2003, KIgA has been developing innovative concepts for the pedagogical confrontation with Anti-Semitism. The target group of KIgA’s prevention work are migrants, with a focus on Muslim youth. The work deals with Anti-Semitism, Islam, Islamism, Islamophobia and historical-political education. The “Initiative Transparente Zivilgesellschaft” is a signatory of the organisation.


Offers:

  • Education for young people: Seminars and workshops are offered for young people on combating Anti-Semitism as well as Anti-Muslim in the context of schools. This offer is free for every school in Berlin.
  • Education for adults: KIgA supports multipliers and local actors in schools and out-of-school Germany-wide to expand and improve their thematic knowledge, their professional skills and their didactical and methodological knowledge. For this, materials are provided, a sensitive approach is taught, a critical self-reflection is encouraged, a methodological training, specialist conferences and workshops are offered.
  • Consulting: The KIgA has many years of practical experience and specific competences. They are organised in networks and cooperations throughout Germany and are involved in policy consultation bodies internationally. Furthermore, KIgA offers consultations for local and communal structures as well as consultation by telephone.
